Resplendent Quetzal Characteristics:

The Resplendent Quetzal, belonging to the trogon family (Trogonidae), is an emblematic species of high altitude cloud forests. During migration, it visits lower regions in search of wild avocado and shelter.

    1. Diet: Its main diet consists of fruits such as wild avocado, though it also consumes insects and small reptiles.
    2. Habitat: Prefers humid and cloud forests where it finds ideal wild avocado and shelter.
    3. Migration: Moves seasonally in search of better climatic conditions.
    4. Unique Plumage: Adult males stand out for their brilliant green and red plumage, while their tail can reach up to 1 meter in length, juvenile males have shorter tails of approximately 65 centimeters, making the Resplendent Quetzal an impressive bird and easy to identify in its natural habitat.
